23 Weeks and 24 Weeks

I can't believe Jason didn't put the chalkboard in this one!

24 Week Update:

Total weight gain: 29 pounds. Yep that's right. Don't think I'm going to have a problem hitting that 50-55 pound mark that is suggested for twins! I still go in shock when I step on the scale at the doctor each week.
Maternity clothes?: Now that I'm stuck at home I've been wearing lots of Jason's thermals and yoga pants. The yoga pants are mine, not Jason's. Just to clear up any confusion ;)
Sleep: I get up in the middle of the night anywhere from 3-5 times to pee. I also have to take my new medicine (more on that later) at 4:00 in the morning so sleep hasn't been so great lately. Good thing I can nap during the day.
Miss Anything?: Leaving the house and being able to run errands. There is so much I want to get out and buy for the nursery and the babies. It's so frustrating having Jason just go. The other night he went to Lowe's and we had to Facetime to pick out a chandelier for the nursery! We got one though! Thank God for iPhones!
Movement: Oh yes! Throughout the entire pregnancy The twins have been positioned kind of ying and yang in there. Mason head down, feet up and really low in my pelvis. While Madeline was head up really high almost up in my ribs. At my 26 week ultrasound I was in shock to see Mason had totally flipped and now their little heads are laying against each other. So now Mason thinks it's fun to kick the crap out of my bladder.
Food cravings: Been loving pancakes! I eat the frozen microwaveable ones almost every morning! Also loving fruit, especially pineapple.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Belly button in or out: Neither! It's completely flat. Almost looks like I don't even have one.
Stretch marks: Nope, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Although I don;t have any yet.
Gender: Baby girl and Baby boy! Madeline Sophia and Mason Dallas.
Symptoms: Don't wanna talk about them.
Mood: Beyond bored and restless! But I know all this time stuck at home and on the couch is worth the twins health and hopefully minimal if any NICU stay.
Looking forward toMy baby shower this Saturday!

22 Weeks

22 Weeks Update

Baby Size: They are each the length of an ear of corn
Total weight gain: 27 pounds
Maternity clothes?: With this huge growing belly??? Of course! Mainly just tops though. Lots of my pants still fit, and I wear the heck out of some leggings.
Sleep: It depends. Some nights I sleep great. Other nights I toss and turn and can't get comfortable.
Miss Anything?: Still dreaming about that McDonalds coke. I've tried getting a root beer to trick myself into being satisfied. It was just a tease.
Movement: Yes, lots! It's hard to tell who it is that's kicking at different times though.
Food cravings: Drinking lots of milk lately!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still no!
Gender: Baby girl and Baby boy! Madeline Sophia and Mason Dallas.
Symptoms: My backaches have been getting pretty bad. I can't sit for too long, but then if I'm on my feet for too long then my feet and ankles start to swell. I've been having to wear compression stockings to work. Yeah....super sexy I know.
Mood: Don't know if it's feeling of being completely exhausted at the end of everyday, but I've been much more sensitive lately. If Jason looks the least bit irritated with me...I burst into tears. I'm sure he's just loving that.
Looking forward toOur next ultrasound at 24 weeks!

15-20 Weeks and Way Behind!

Okay. Okay! I'm way behind! Also in case you couldn't make it to our party we're BOY/GIRL twins. So now five weeks of pictures! Oh and we decided on names. Baby Boy will be named Mason Dallas Rimini and Baby Girl will be named Madeline Sophia Rimini. I'm so anxious to meet both of them!

15 WEEKS UPDATE:

Baby Size: The twins are each the size of pears and are able to rub their eyes, yawn, blink, and hiccup!

Total weight gain: 13 pounds. It's funny at the beginning of week 15 I had numerous people tell me "you are so tiny for being this far along with twins. I was wearing maternity clothes with just one at this point." Toward the end of this week this conversation has definitely changed. Now people are stopping me saying "oh wow you have a belly now!" or "oh my you have really popped out overnight" Ha! how quickly that changed huh! I guess you can say the bump is now in full effect!
Maternity clothes? Still not yet but let me tell you the hair tie I have looped through that button hole is stretched. Like to the max. And so I'm afraid the time has come to order some maternity clothes. Like now.
Sleep: The When You are expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads book that has became our bible lately has informed me it is now time to sleep on my left side to ensure good blood flow to the babies. Which has been just fine for me. I usually only sleep on my side.
Miss Anything? Not really! Just happy to be pregnant and growing!
Movement: Still no. I sooo want to feel those little ones move around.
Food cravings: So I've never been a big oreo fan. But for some reason Jason had been buying them lately and let me just say I evidently do not hate them anymore.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The thought of having to wear maternity clothes?? ha!
Gender: We have a doctors appointment next week so I'm hoping that just maybe I can sweet talk the doctor into taking a peek to find out what they are.
Symptoms: The headaches are much better this week. The other day I said to Jason, "My hands are a little swollen...thats weird." He immediately responded, "Ashley, you're pregnant...I think you keep forgetting. Weird stuff is going to start happening."  ...oh yeah, oops!

Here is a quick pic from one of the apps on my phone that shows what the babies look like in there at 15 weeks. I think they already looked so cramped! And we still have a long way to go! Poor little bugs.

My friend Brittany and I at a wedding this weekend as she was loving on the babies.

And yes I spelled avocado wrong. Can I blame it on pregnancy brain? NO? ...Ok i'm just an idiot!

16 WEEKS UPDATE:

Baby Size: The twins are each the size of avocados(and yes I realize it is spelled wrong on the board!) and can hear us talk.

Maternity clothes? Well I broke down and bought a few maternity shirts last week. They are actually pretty cute, but I haven't worn them yet.
Sleep: It's ok when I don't wake up every few hours to pee!
Miss Anything? Large McDonalds Coke. That sounds sooo good! But no caffeine for me.
Movement: I thought I felt something the other day but I can't be sure. Probably just my stomach growling. I so want to feel them move though!
Food cravings: Not really cravings, but I'm not mad about the fact that we just bought a bunch of Halloween candy for trick-or-treaters.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender: Hoping to find out this coming week. If we do we are planning a gender reveal party. I've already been buying things for the party! We are pretty excited so fingers crossed we find out this week.
Symptoms: Been a little tired this week and have been taking a few more naps. But no complaints here!

We put the cribs together this week. They are the Babyletto Modo cribs. I love them! Still need to get mattresses for them though.

Jason hard at work!

19 WEEKS UPDATE:
Baby Size: The twins are the size of grapefruits

Total weight gain: 19 pounds

Maternity clothes? I hate to say this, but yes. It was like 17 weeks hit, I woke up and BOOM.....hello big belly. This weekend Jason and I went to St. Louis for a day of shopping and I bought a bunch of maternity shirts and a pair of maternity jeans. I can still squeeze into my old jeans with a VERY stretched out hair tie, but when I tried on the maternity jeans it was like the heavens opened and I heard angels sing. Ok so that's a bit dramatic, but they were soooo much more comfortable that I totally got over the fact they were maternity jeans. I don't really know why I have been so against maternity clothes. I have wanted to be pregnant for so long you think I'd be all about them. But it was just really hard for me to open up to the idea that all the cute clothes in my closet will not be worn for a very long time. Oh well at least I still have my boots.

Sleep: I've been getting a little uncomfortable and waking up quite a bit during the night. So sleep isn't as great as it once was.
Miss Anything? Yes! Getting through a whole day without feeling like I've been hit by a truck!
Movement: Prickly pins and needles feelings in my belly! Sometimes feels like butterflies.
Food cravings: I've been drinking a lot of milk lately. Jason asked me the other day if I was training for a gallon challenge! Ha! Which is weird because I've never been a big milk drinker....unless of course there is a big plate of cookies to go with it. Cookies are my weakness.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender: Boy and girl!!!! Mason Dallas Rimini and Madeline Sophia Rimini
Symptoms: Along with waking up with a belly out of nowhere when I hit week 17... I also woke up feeling very pregnant. I had been feeling so great up until this point. I made it through the 1st trimester without one day nausea and, besides the fatigue, sometimes I even forgot I was pregnant I felt so great. But it has all caught up to me now. If I have a long day at work or did a little too much that day my entire body starts to hurt. My hands and feet are starting to swell a little and I am having the worst backaches!
Mood: I never know how to answer this one. Ok, I guess? Just tired! Maybe I should ask Jason for his opinion on this one!
Looking forward to: We have the 20 week ultrasound on Tuesday. My mom is going along with Jason and I so we are all excited to get a good long look at these sweet little babies.

Lots of shopping has been happening now that we know the genders. How cute are these little hats we bought at a local children's boutique called Trendy Kids.

The hat and socks we also got at Trendy Kids and the onsie is from Megan and Nigel.

Their closet is starting to fill up already! You would think they were coming in a few weeks with how full it's getting!

20 WEEKS UPDATE:
Baby Size: The twins are the size bananas (in length) and has developed regular sleeping patterns.

Maternity clothes? Yes and also had to go buy bigger scrubs for work. Not quite professional when your belly hangs out the bottom of your scrub top!
Sleep: I've been getting a little uncomfortable and waking up quite a bit during the night. So sleep isn't as great as it once was.
Miss Anything? Still missing a large McDonald's Coke.
Movement: Still no major movements just the butterfly feelings.
Food cravings: Not really. I just can't wait for Pumpkin Pie around Thanksgiving!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Gender: Boy and girl!!!! Mason Dallas Rimini and Madeline Sophia Rimini
Symptoms: Still just the backaches and fatigue.
Looking forward to: Feeling more movement from the babies, actually feeling kicks and not just tingles!

14 Week Update!

I am now 14 weeks so it's time to play a little baby bump picture catch up. So here are weeks 11-14!

Here are sonogram pics from week 13
BABY  A
BABY  B
 14 WEEKS UPDATE:

Baby Size: The twins are each the size of a peach
Total weight gain: 11 pounds. The baby books tell me to expect to gain 45-50 pounds with my frame and twins. HOLY COW! That seems like so much! Jason just today (who was reading one of his expecting twins books and two iphone apps) informed me that I should have gained 14-18 pounds by this point. I assured him that 11 pounds was plenty (I mean my Lord I'm only 14 weeks and feel as though 11 pounds is a LOT!)...he disagreed and immediately left for the grocery store. He returned with peanut butter crackers and two things of ice cream. He said the book said that ice cream was good for me to eat because it has a good amount of fat and is full of calcium and that the books say at 14 weeks 14-18 pounds is normal. So lets just say I took down a big bowl of ice cream tonight. I mean come one...twist my arm :)
Maternity clothes? Not yet. My skinny jeans still fit if I use an elastic hair tie through the button hole! But not sure how much longer this trick is gonna work. I swear every day I wake up the bump looks a little bit bigger so I'm afraid maternity clothes are in my very near future!
Sleep: The first trimester I swore these babies were sucking the life out of me. I tired to come home and take a little nap every day after work. But since I've gotten into the second trimester I have a little bit more energy and don't feel the need to nap like I did,
Miss Anything? Actually the only thing I really miss is lunch meat! A hard salami sandwich or a Jimmy Johns Beach club. But no lunch meat when your prego so veggie subs it is. BORRRIIINGG.
Movement: Not yet but my doctor has said with twins you feel movement much sooner since they are so smashed inside there. So I'm hoping I feel them move soon! When we have ultrasounds they move around and kick and wave like crazy. Especially Baby B. I think Baby B is going to be our wild child.
Food cravings: Not really. I kind of craved salty stuff for a while, like salt and vinegar chips. Now I kind of want sour stuff. I've been eating a lot of pink lemonade jolly rancher suckers. But I wouldn't really call any of this cravings because I swear I've always been the type to crave things, even when I wasn't pregnant.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I was extremely lucky to not have even one bit of morning sickness the first trimester. Not one day of nausea or sickness. I really lucked out there. The only pregnancy side effect (besides the fatigue and growing belly!) that I've had is terrible headaches. Like serious headaches. UGH.
Gender: I wish we knew!! I'm hoping since we get ultrasounds a little more often since we've got two in there that we find out a little earlier. But that may be wishful thinking.
Symptoms: Just the headaches :(
Mood: Wellll.....Jason said a few weeks ago that he thinks I've been more normal and calm pregnant than I was on all the hormone medications and fertility shots. But I'll be the first to admit that the week we finished up building the house and moving was a very, errrr, how should I say this....trying week for me. I am so ready to just be pregnant and not be pregnant while going to fertility appointments out of state once a week, planning bridal and bachelorette parties, picking out house stuff, calling contractors, and moving! But we are now officially moved and things have calmed down.
Looking forward to: Feeling the little ones move!
